Clear Answers About Care, Costs, Staff, and Safety

Whether you’re arranging support for a loved one, planning a hospital discharge, or commissioning care, it’s normal to have questions. This page answers the most common home care FAQs and explains how Aeon Nursing provides nurse-led, CQC-regulated care at home across the UK.

What types of care do you provide?

We provide a full range of nurse-led home care, including live-in care, complex care for adults, complex care for children, dementia and mental health support, palliative and end-of-life care, and hospital discharge and reablement. Every package is clinically overseen and tailored to the person not a one-size-fits-all rota.

How quickly can care be arranged?

In many cases, we can arrange urgent care within 24–72 hours, depending on location, clinical complexity, and staffing availability. We’ll always be clear about timeframes and next steps.

Is your care truly personalised?

Yes. We build a care plan around the individual’s needs, routines, preferences, clinical history, and family input. In addition, we review and adapt the plan as needs change—so the care stays relevant and safe.

Do you offer 24/7 care?

Yes. We can provide 24/7 support through live-in care or a tailored rota of day and night care, depending on what’s clinically appropriate and what the person prefers.

Do you accept Personal Health Budgets (PHBs)?

Yes. We support people using Personal Health Budgets (PHBs) and other flexible funding routes, and we can align care delivery to agreed outcomes and care plans.

Can I pay privately?

Absolutely. Many of our clients are self-funding. We’ll provide transparent pricing and guide you through every step.

Are your services available through the NHS or Local Authorities?

Yes. If someone is eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC), their package may be arranged and funded solely by the NHS. We can support families and professionals with the information needed for planning and delivery.

Is the initial assessment free?

Yes. We offer a no-obligation clinical assessment so you understand needs, risks, and suitable options before you commit.

What qualifications do your carers and nurses have?

Our staff are recruited carefully and are DBS-checked, trained, and supported. Our nurses are NMC-registered, and our carers receive role-specific training for complex needs (for example: PEG feeding, epilepsy support, tracheostomy care, autism support, and more).

Do you provide ongoing training and supervision?

Yes. We provide structured induction, competency-based training, shadowing, and ongoing supervision. This means care stays consistent and safe as needs change.

Can you match a carer to the client?

Wherever possible, yes. We aim to match carers based on the person’s needs, communication style, and day-to-day preferences—because compatibility improves outcomes and reduces stress for everyone..

Will we have continuity of care?

We aim for continuity so the person is supported by a familiar team. That trust and routine can be especially important for dementia support, complex conditions, and long-term care.

Are you regulated by the CQC?

Yes. Aeon Nursing is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has an overall rating of Good.

How do you ensure safety at home?

We use risk assessments, clear care plans, and regular clinical reviews. We also follow robust safeguarding, infection control, and medication-support procedures where required.

Is there clinical oversight and out-of-hours support?

Yes. We provide clinical oversight, escalation pathways, and on-call support so families and professionals can raise concerns quickly and get timely guidance.

What if there’s a problem or concern?

We take concerns seriously and act quickly. We’ll listen, investigate, and respond transparently—because safe care depends on open communication and continuous improvement..
